Cheddar and Garlic Scones

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons cold unsalted
butter, cut into pieces
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 eggs
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 cup grated sharp Cheddar
cheese

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat the oven to 400 F.




Place flour into food processor.
Add butter.


Add baking powder.















Add salt.


















Add garlic powder.



















Add oregano.


















Pulse until crumbly.


















In a small bowl, mix together
eggs and cream. Reserve 1
tablespoon of this mixture for
glazing.



































Add mustard.



















Mix well.


















Place the flour mixture in a
chilled bowl. Add Cheddar
cheese.

















Add egg mixture.


















Mix with a fork until just
combined. Do not overmix!

















Liberally flour the counter and
your hands. Shape the dough
into a 1-inch-thick circle.























































Cut into 8 wedges.






































Baste with reserved egg mixture.






































Generously spray baking sheet
with cooking spray. Place
scones onto the baking sheet.
















Bake in preheated oven 13 to
15 minutes, until light golden.










Serve warm.
