INGREDIENTS:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 eggs
1/4 cup milk
3 cups white all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons water

cooking spray
1 tablespoon flour for dusting
baking dish
confectioner's sugar to dust cake

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cut butter into several pieces
and place into large bowl.

Add sugar.

Mix with electric mixer until
crumbly.

Add vanilla extract.

Add one egg at a time. Beat with
mixer until well-blended. Add
remaining eggs, one at a time.

Add milk.

Mix well with mixer.

Put flour into medium bowl. Add
baking powder.

Add salt.

Mix well with spoon.

Add flour mixture to the egg
mixture.

Mix with spoon until smooth.

Spray baking dish with cooking
spray. Sprinkle with flour.

Tilt baking dish slightly to cover
its sides with flour.

Spoon half of batter into form.
Level batter with back side of
spoon.

Add sugar to remaining half of
batter.

Add cocoa powder.

Add water.

Mix well with spoon.

Spoon on top of batter in baking
dish.

Level with back of spoon.

Insert fork into batter. Turn it
around to make swirls.

Bake in preheated oven at 350
degrees F for 50 to 60 minutes.
Test with wooden skewer or
toothpick: insert it into cake and
take out - if nothing sticks to it,
the cake is done. If batter sticks
to it, bake cake for additional 5
minutes or until skewer comes
out clean.

Unlock baking dish and take
side part off. Place cake onto
cooling rack. Cool completely.

Run spatula or knife between
cake and baking dish bottom to
release cake.

Dust cake with confectioner's
sugar, cut into pieces and enjoy!
