There are basic items that every pantry should have:
- Baking powder and baking soda
- Sugar (granulated white; light and dark brown; confectioner’s)
- Dried herbs and spices (rosemary, oregano, thyme, parsley, chives, basil, Italian,
tarragon, marjoram, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, curry powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, bay leaf)
- Olive oil (extra virgin and regular)
- Broth and stock (chicken, beef, vegetable) – canned, cubed, or powdered
- Noodles (spaghetti, elbows, penne, etc.)
- Rice (white, brown, basmati, Arborio, sushi – whichever you prefer)
- Vinegar (white and balsamic)
